“oux is the project of multi-instrumentalists, singer-songwriters, and producers indigo finamore and manae solara vaughn…you could call their music “experimental pop,” but that hardly does justice to the profusion of genres and ideas they weave into their songs. four years in the making, oux’s debut full-length, “necronym”, balances prickly idiosyncrasies with sleek earworms, and unraveling its layers is part of the fun.” - jamie ludwig, chicago reader
as a duo, they self-released their “honeymood” EP in 2019 which was re-released in 2020 via chillwavve records. in 2021, bassist arya woody and drummer vita cleveland joined oux. in 2022, vita departed on hiatus and alaska jules (she/her) drummed from 2022-2024 and contributed to necronym before vita returned in 2025. on necronym, oux etches hyper-personal lyricism into maximalist productions indicative of the chaos that boils under the narratives of reason, etching their names into a hypnagogic tryst that relishes in the depths of death and renewal.
